AT&T might re-launch Lumia 1520 in green running on Windows Phone 8.1
AT&T is planning to release a refreshed variant of Lumia 1520 in green, with Windows Phone 8.1 pre-installed
Nokia Lumia 1520 is a one-of-a-kind high end smartphone running on Windows Phone 8 with a rather large 6-inch display in the mobile world today. The phablet is available for purchase in different markets around the world for few months now. Thanks to the reliable tipster @evleaks we get the news that Lumia 1520 will be re-launched by AT&T with a new color option and the latest update of the platform – Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box. Microsoft recently announced that the software update will be launching in spring. The timing is right for the arrival of the refreshed variant of Lumia 1520 in AT&T. The new in the appearance of the phablet will be the green color shell. Currently Lumia 1520 is available in AT&T in black, white, red and yellow. The improved features in the model will be supported by the new platform. Windows Phone 8.1 will provide a lot of goodies for the devices, such as on-screen buttons. In addition users will have the option to install apps on the microSD cards in the device.
The launch date of the green Lumia 1520 is not officially scheduled yet. If rumors turn out to be true and Windows Phone 8.1 begins rolling-out in spring, we should see the model at AT&T’s shelves within few weeks. The price of the re-launched model is not revealed yet. Right now the Lumia 1520 is up-for-sales in the carrier for $199.99 (16GB) and $249.99 (32GB) subsidized. The expectations for the price of the refreshed version suggest that AT&T either will keep them the same or will offer the device at lower price.
