Microsoft Surface Phone with Windows Phone 8.1 appears in a concept design
The Surface Phone vision suggests a Nokia build quality that relies on the ClearBlack technology
Microsoft has been a too busy lately closing the deal which will finally make Nokia a part of its structure. In the meantime, while the company doesn’t seem to be very productive in terms of smartphones, lots of rumors have surfaced to suggest that it’s been working on a handset after all. The so called Microsoft Surface Phone has went under lots of speculations for the last couple of weeks, and although we don’t have much details on what the smartphone will look like, some creative designers have already made their bets. With that being said, the Windows Phone 8.1 running device has been imagined by the concept designer David Cooltions and it looks really great.
The design looks more of a sketch than a render, but it gives us a lot to be hype about. Starting with the body, the display is edge to edge opening the whole possible space for a 5-inches AMOLED touchscreen display. The design suggests only a Full HD resolution, but it’s still a great start. Under the hood, the Surface Phone hides a great quad-core engine manufactured by Qualcomm and we can count on an excellent performance as the Snapdragon 800 is coated at 2.2GH and coupled with 2GB of RAM. The integrated built-in storage is the typical amount of 32GB and we can guess there’s a microSD card support in order to expand the room for more content. According to the designer, the smartphone featuring Windows Phone 8.1 has Nokia build quality that relies on the ClearBlack technology. Furthermore, the Surface Phone brags with an 8-megapixel main snapper on its rare side that is paired with a 2-megapixel front facing camera with LED flash for video calls and selfies. In addition, the design also tips onscreen buttons with accent color integration below the screen.
Our favourite part is the built in kickstand of the smartphone that is perfect to prop it up on your desk while watching videos.
