New BBM update for iOS includes feature called Find Friends
The Find Friends feature detects which contacts in your list are already using the app and lets you to choose to send a PIN invite to them
BlackBerry has updated its BBM app with a new feature called Find Friends, available for iOS and eventually Android. The iTunes page of the app was updated yesterday, announcing the release. However, it seems that Android users will have to wait a little while, because the Google Play Store page hasn’t been updated yet, its final update was on January 13th, 2014.
The new Find Friends feature is able to detect which contacts in your list are already using the BBM app and it allows you to choose who to send a PIN invite. If a person doesn’t have a BBM yet, you have the ability to invite them to download the app with an email or SMS suggestion.
Find Friends will appear once you open the updated BBM app and you can also find it under the “invites” tab menu in the bottom left hand corner of BBM.
The BBM app is the best way to connect with friends and family on your mobile devices. It lets you protect your privacy, you are the one controlling it. You chose how to share your information – BBM uses PINs instead of phone numbers or email addresses so that it’s more private and you always control who can contact you. You can chat and share with many people at once and create your own unique BBM profile. Once created, you can •Post a profile picture using images, pictures or even animated pictures (GIFs) and update your status to let people know what you’re up to or how you feel
BBM is always on and always connection, which means that there is no app to open. You get notifications on when messages have been delivered (D’s) and read (R’s). You are also able to see what contacts are responding to your message and you can use a variety of emoticons to express yourself and your mood.
BBM was last updated to version 1.0.6.157 on February 5th, 2014. Its size is 31.5MB and it requires iOS 6.0 or later. You can download the app from HERE.
