Gionee M2 – a new mid-range quad-core smartphone available in India
Gionee has released the 5-inch M2, with a massive 4200 mAh battery
In 2013 Gionee launched a variety of different smartphones in its home market and now it is time for another addition to the line-up. A handset dubbed Gionee M2 has just launched in India and we are ready to unveil its specs, availability and pricing.
Gionee M2 is a mid-range smartphone according to the standards. It boasts a large 5-inch screen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. As you know, Samsung was an absolute dominant in the 5-inch market until other players started to explore this segment. At the beginning, all models were considered to be high-end, but now different low cost manufacturers are pushing the prices down. This is the case with Gionee M2, as the company sets its price at just Rs. 11,123.
M2 specs include a quad-core processor at 1.3 GHz backed by 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and a microSD slot. There is an 8 MP camera with LED flash and autofocus on the rare side coupled with a 2 MP front-facing camera. Gionee M2 is a dual SIM handset, running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
The M2 isn’t without its strengths, however. Firstly, it has a great 4200 mAh battery offering 555 hours of standby or 24 hours talk time on 3G. In all the important ways, this is quite impressive as most of the companies are struggling to find a solution to insufficient battery power. Secondly, the Gionee M2 allows users to charge other devices as it includes USB OTG Support. It lets you charge other smartphones and devices using the standard USB port.
The phone can be ordered through Snapdeal’s online store from here.
