US Cellular launched a new $50 unlimited contract-free plan
The new US Cellular promotional plan will be available for only four devices
US Cellular just unveiled its new affordable unlimited data plan that comes for $50 a month without a long-term agreement. This doesn’t come unexpected as users have become fonder of contract free mobile plans lately and the carrier is ready to jump into some action. The new promotional plan arrives with an unlimited voice and text, as well as unlimited data for only $50. Of course, as great as it sounds, you need to keep in mind that only some of that will run at high-speed. For example, the first 500MB of data will be high-speed and thereafter, the speeds will slow down to 1X or let’s say 2G. Along with the data speed restriction, there’s also a catch when it comes to device compatibility. According to the Korean media, the US Cellular promotional plan will be available for only four devices, including Motorola Moto X, Kyocera Hydro XTRM, ZTE Director and Samsung Galaxy Axiom. Amongst those four, the ZTE Director is the most budget-friendly handset priced at $50; however it unfortunately lacks LTE support in terms of connectivity. On the contrary, Motorola Moto X costs $300, the Hydro XTRM and Galaxy Axiom – $130, and all of those three are with rebates. So far, there’s no word whether US Cellular is planning on adding other devices to the $50 unlimited data plan, however we wouldn’t count on it as the promo is said to a limited time offer.
