Sony Xperia Z1 Compact now available in O2 for UK users
O2 charges the Xperia Z1 Compact for £479.99 on a pay-as-you-go contract
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact just became available for purchase in the UK via one of Britain’s major carriers O2. The good news is the handset arrives in four different color options to choose from, in case you can afford to buy a unit. Not that Sony’s high-end flagship devices are that budget friendly ( as you can expect real quality for nothing), but O2 has overdone it with the price tag a little but, as it charges £479.99 on a pay-as-you-go contract. At least the deal can have you leave the store with a free handset and the tariffs of O2 Refresh start from £37 per month. And now we’re afraid we’ve got some bad news. There’s no charger in the box. In fact, this isn’t the first time for O2 to make such a decision, following the logical assumption that users probably have a USB power adaptor at home anyway. In all, one can still buy one at a discount rate.
No matter how you look at it, the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is an amazing smartphone- a small-sized version of the original Sony Xperia Z1 without any compromise on the powerful specs. The device is the needle that pushed a new tradition for smaller variants of flagship devices but still the same high-end specs as the original. The mini device arrives with 4.3-inches TRILUMINOS display with the resolution of 1280×720 pixels and offers superior picture quality. Under the hood, the Xperia Z1 Compact operates with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 at 2.2GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. The device has 16GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot for further memory expansion up to 64GB. There’s no compromise on the camera module either, as the mini beast features the same 20.7-megapixel main shooter with G Lens as the original model.
