Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Glass to be on their way later this year
Samsung is getting ready to reveal the Galaxy Glass gear at IFA 2014
Samsung Galaxy Gear launched about one year ago and the whole chain of rumors, speculations and leaks hasn’t stop ever since. The Korean press has given us lots of clues about the next generation gear and even another wearable glass gear to follow. For start, todays leaks suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 will debut sometime in March or April during an exclusive event in London.
In fact, this isn’t the first time we hear about the Samsung event in London as few days ago the Korean media tipped that the company is getting ready to announce its next flagship device Samsung Galaxy S5 there. According to the previous report, the exclusive event will be dedicated exactly to the next-generation Galaxy S. On the other hand, there are some leaks from the same insiders that claimed both Galaxy S5 and the smartwatch Galaxy Gear 2 to enter production in January and debut in March or April. If we do the maths right and if we assume the rumors to be accurate, the exclusive event might debut both devices at once. We can’t say this is impossible.
For what it’s worth, according to the latest leaks, the Galaxy Gear 2 will wear a new more fashionable design with a flexible wraparound screen. It’s quite likely for the gear to be paired with the upcoming smartphone and both to hit the shelves in pack. Galaxy Gear aside, let’s go back to the other wearable device we mentioned earlier. The Korean media reports that Samsung’s own smart glasses tech is currently in the works.
Although we still don’t have much detail on this, it appears that the Korean company is getting ready to reveal the gear at IFA 2014 in September this year. Furthermore, the glasses would also pair smartphones and offer the same functionality as Google Glass. These rumors couldn’t seem more accurate, especially now when Samsung and Google announced its cross-licensing deal for the next 10 years. Stay tuned.
