Google Glass unique experience for upcoming Super Bowl
The experience will be seen through the eyes of John Kucko, sports anchor at WROC-TV
With the Super Bowl match taking place next month, Google will be acting not only as a sponsor and advertiser, but also they will be providing an unique experience for fans with thanks to Google Glass. They will be working in cooperation with CBS in order to show the game from a whole new perspective.
John Kucko, sports anchor at WROC-TV, Rochester, one of CBS’s many affiliates, will be wearing the Google Glass technology. Aside from seeing the game from his perspective viewers will be able to tune in during the festivities that will be taking place before the game.
According to Kucko, Google Glass will provide viewers with a perspective of the greatest spectacle in sports that they have never seen or experienced before. To have this first person technology will be invaluable in his day-to-day coverage of football’s grandest game.
Google Glass has been used in the past for a variety of settings – from hospital operating rooms to sky diving.
Tim Moore, Glass expert and member of the Rochester Optical Glass team, has been working closely with Kucko to prepare him and to maximize the experience. He says that it’s time people see the positive effects of Google Glass and there couldn’t be a larger public stage to do that other than the Super Bowl. Moore claims that the perspective will be like putting on a football helmet in your living room and experiencing the game in a way that, until recently, was unimaginable.
It seems that Google Glass has been getting more and more popular, with major brands recognizing its potential and the marketing possibilities of the Super Bowl being the biggest stage in the world. There will be ads approaching $10 million for a single spot and an estimated 2 billion views in over 200 countries.
