Amazon is sending invitations for a mystery event to reveal a device bigger than Kindle
Amazon might be getting ready to release the Firetube streaming device
Amazon is already sending invitations to a mystery event that will most likely give the spotlight to a new streaming gadget. Reportedly, the invitations are already rolling out and hint something.
The first to find out about these mysterious invitations are the folks from the Boston Globe who posted the whole text tipping that the event will take place in Cambridge, MA. The only question that remains is what does Amazon have up its sleeve? The invitation mentions a delivery of digital media in a different way and Amazon hints that its product is about to disrupt the current marketplace.
Furthermore, the invitation also hints that Amazon has formed teams in many locations partnering on the secret project and the best thing is that the text claims this new product to be ‘even bigger than Kindle’.
Let’s sum up what we have so far- Amazon is clearly talking about a project related to digital media delivery that is going to be bigger than Kindle and disruptive to the market. Could this be the streaming device that got rumoured for a while now? On one hand, there have been recent speculations about Amazon to release a Firetube streaming device. On the other, Amazon launching a smartphone or a whole smartphone series also sounds possible. In relation to this, there have been recent rumors for an Amazon 3D phone. This sounds quite unlikely to happen, but who knows?
Amazon’s Kindle New Initiatives (KN) Team is hosting a happy hour in Boston on Thursday, December 30th from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. There will be free food and drinks, as well as an opportunity to meet Amazon’s creative leaders and engineers who are responsible for the next generation of consumer products.
This is an invitation only event and we’d like for you to attend.
We are working on a new revolutionary V1 product that will allow us to deliver Digital Media to our customers in new ways and disrupt the current marketplace. We have teams in various locations partnering on this project, from Sunnyvale, Seattle, to right here in Boston. We believe this new product will be even bigger than Kindle!
