Gmail Android app update enables auto-show images

Users will be able to automatically see the images in their email messages like in the desktop version of the program

The Gmail app for Android has now been updated to version 4.7.2 and it gives the users the option to automatically show the images in emails. This feature is already available in the desktop version of Gmail, which is why it was high time they did it for Android too.

Gmail is built on the idea that email can be more intuitive, efficient, and useful. And maybe even fun. Get your email instantly via push notifications, read and respond to your conversations online & offline, and search and find any email.

Gmail also lets you:

• View and save attachments of any type including documents, PDFs, zip files and other

Last month, Google announced that all the Gmail app versions, both desktop and Android, will be getting a security feature like auto-responding option, the ability to print emails (available for KitKat users only) and the ability to download attachments which are archived and in turn to attach them into your message.

With the 4.7.2 version, Google will be serving images from its proxy servers, which means that users won’t be able to send any images for malicious purposes.

Of course, there is also an option not to automatically show the pictures in the email, mostly due to bandwidth issues. You can easily disable the feature in the settings options even after the 4.7.2 update to Gmail.

According to sources, the app’s size will estimate around 4.7MB and you can download it from the Google Play Store page HERE, which was updated on January 8^th, 2014. The required Android for this app varies with each device. Users should be receiving an update notification for this Gmail update soon.
