BBM Voice and BBM Channels to arrive in BBM app for Android and iOS
The BBM app for iOS and Android will be improved with new features soon
Among the biggest dramas of summer were the release of BBM app for Android and iOS, and the launching of the YouTube app for Windows Phone. The BBM app was much anticipated by users and that is why many of us were happy to try it on and use it when it became available for both platforms back in October. When the app became official, BlackBerry announced that new features can be expected to arrive in the application real soon. Now we know a bit more on this topic. It seems that two of the main features of BBM will be included in the app sometime in 2014. BBM Voice and BBM Channels are two of the most modem features that users will love once they become available.
BBM Voice enables free voice calls from each point in the world with other BBM contact. The BBM Channels is a relatively new feature similar to a social network. Users will be able to follow each other, to communicate, share information and photos etc. BlackBerry already released the feature available for BlackBerry smartphones, so now is turn to Android and iOS-powered devices to get it.
The improvements of the BBM app for both platforms do not end just with those two new features. BlackBerry announced new capabilities coming up to the chat service in the app as well. Some of them are: easy and fast sharing of files and information between BBM contacts, such as music, videos, photos, voice messages, location information etc. For those of you who love the emoticons, BlackBerry is adding over 100 new smiley (or grumpy) faces to the chat. The coming 2014 year will bring a lot of new things in the mobile world and it is definitely good to know that the BBM is developing and improving rapidly. It is still unknown when the new features will be rolling-out to the platforms; however rumors say that BlackBerry is planning to test the beta versions soon.
