Sony updates Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra to Android 4.3
Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and other improvements for Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra
Sony is very close to start rolling out an update to two of their high-end devices – Sony Xperia Z1 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra. The update will bring several new features to the smartphones while the operating system will be updated to a version 4.3 Jelly Bean. Both flagship smartphones, which are currently running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, will soon start receiving the update, a process that will satisfy most of the consumers. Although this is not the new Android version, the users can enjoy a plenty of improvements and new features, coming alongside the main OS update.
Xperia Z1 and Z Ultra will have updated UI and enhanced performance. The Social Camera, previously available for Sony Xperia Z1 will be enabled for Xperia Z Ultra. Sony’s own apps will be updated and users can download many unique Xperia Themes and change the UI. Moreover, both handsets will get the latest security enhancements – Xperia in Business.
The Android 4.3 Update for Xperia Z1 has been rumored for quite a while now. First, the company confirmed that the update would arrive in the beginning of December to a number of Xperia handsets. However, Sony didn’t fulfill its promise. Later, Sony said the version Android 4.4 Kit Kat will be released in 2014. However, Sony hasn’t specified any specific dates for the updates. There are many Sony users who are eagerly anticipating a newer version of Android coming to their phones, so the manufacturer can’t ignore much longer these needs.
According to our sources, the update will be rolling out gradually. Sony hasn’t confirmed its arrival, so it may take a while before all users around the globe can have their smartphones updated.
