New render and concept design of the Android Nokia Normandy
Nokia Normandy will be the first and the last until 2016 Nokia smartphone running Android
A rumor about an Android Nokia phone blew up the entire network few days ago. This might easily become the hot topic of the year, since if the leaks are true, we’re talking about something big. It’s not a secret that for many people the Windows Phone operating system appears to be a deal breaker. This isn’t really fair for the Nokia Lumia handsets that offer splendid specs for really affordable prices. In fact, the most recent market share surveys pointed out that the most popular operating systems amongst users are Android and Apple’s iOS. Maybe before Nokia gets complexly swallowed by Microsoft, it can pull out an Android phone. The device has leaked under the name Nokia Normandy and it will be running an operating system based on Android. It will probably offer something similar to the Amazon Kindle Fire fashion. Today we received the renders of the upcoming device and we truly sincerely hope this won’t be just some sort of an Asha or a new Lumia.
On the other hand, there have been some speculations about the Finnish company to be working on a budget alternative to Asha that would access Android applications. As you can see in the leaked photos, the possible Nokia Normandy will be the first and the last until 2016 Nokia smartphone running fork-Android. It’s a 4-incher at 10:10 ratio with the measurements of 113.8 x 62 x 9.2mm. The concept design tips the handset to come in six different colors: old school black and classic white, light blue, dark green, yellow and bright red. The question is whether Microsoft will allow the development of this Android project, so let’s hope the Normandy would somehow manage to slip through Microsoft’s fingers. What we’re going to do is to keep an eye on the handset and report any further development. So, what do you think? Don’t hold your excitement or scepticism for yourselves and share your thoughts in the comment section.
In the meantime, look at the leaked photos:
