Google News mobile app for iOS and Android with new design and features
Google News with more customization options for iOS and Android
Google has announced a major redesign of its Google News mobile app for the leading platforms – Android and iOS. The update will be rolling out within the next few days in the US and later the same user experience will be brought to the international customers. Here’s the full list with the changes:
- Google has made the news more visible and readable. The company promises the news would be easier to read and track
- Google News for Android and iOS will give you the possibility to change the theme from dark to light and the font size. Moreover, users will be able to switch to a larger story card, showing more information per single story.
- The navigation will be simplified. Clicking on the News icon, users can easily navigate through the list of available sections. Users can also create their own customized sections.
- The revamped mobile app will have an easier integration with Google Feedback
There are even more changes and enhancements. Google has included many new features available in the desktop version like Editors picks and Weather Gadget in the local section.
According to Google, the new version of the mobile app should be available in the coming days for users living in the US. Unfortunately, we don’t know when the changes will hit the other users, but most probably it won’t happen before the year’s end. However, Google should bring the same experience to all users in early 2014. The changes can be seen using the Chrome or Safari browser. To check them out, just visit news.google.com
