Nokia Lumia 2520 Review
Introduction
Nokia Lumia 2520 is the first model tablet by the Finnish manufacturer that arrives in the tech world to compete against the Apple iPad Air and the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 tablets. Its main advantages include the 10.1-inches screen, its powerful processor and the rich abundance of connectivity features, including LTE and Wi-Fi, something that not many model slates offer for users today. Lumia 2520 runs on Windows 8.1RT OS which makes it the third model tablet that works with the Microsoft’s platform. The other two are the slates from the Surface Pro family. Nokia introduced the tablet on 22nd of October in Abu Dhabi at the event Nokia World. It was unveiled along with the high-end phablet Nokia Lumia 1520 and the mid-range Nokia Lumia 1320.
Design and Display
Nokia Lumia 2520 features unique design that reminds a bit to the Lumia line phones but stands out with its own curves and shape that feels just great in the hand. The tablet is very thin, only 8.9 in thickness. It is very light as well – only 615 grams. The ergonomic shape of Lumia 2520 makes it comfortable for holding, despite if you are right- or left-handed. The tablet comes in four color options. The black and the cyan variants have matt finish while the red and the white shells of the slate are with glossy finish. On the top side of the panel of Lumia 2520 are located the volume rocker and the power/lock button. On the right side of the tablet are set the USB 3.0 and HDMI. On the left side are placed the headphone jack and the charging port.

The battery of Lumia 2520 is Lithium-Ion with a capacity of 8000mAh. According to Nokia, it assures 11 hour usage time for the device.
Camera
Nokia Lumia 2520 has a 6.7MP camera on the back. Even though it is not enriched with flash or optical image stabilization, the camera delivers satisfying picture quality. On the front panel is located a 2MP camera for video chats.
Software and Connectivity
Nokia Lumia 2520 runs on Windows 8.1 RT operating system. Nokia has chosen this certain platform for the slate because of the better battery life that it assures. The Windows 8.1 RT works with an x86 CPU which allows slimmer design of the device compared to the tablets powered by ARM CPU. Availability and Price
Nokia Lumia 2520 will be launched first by the US carrier AT&T on 22nd of November. The entering price for the slate is $399 with signed two year contract. The tablet will be distributed globally. It is expected that the price in the UK will be slightly higher.
