Microsoft gathering the developers of Windows Phone and Windows together
Even though Microsoft has been playing a game with its developers for the last few years it seems that the giant company has finally realized the way it should deal with its developers and not torture them with having two Windows Store and Windows Phone Store subscriptions.
It seems obvious but only recently has Microsoft found a solution and announced it in a report this Wednesday, which indeed points out that Microsoft will, in fact, take out the separate subscriptions. The report further continues that developers will be able to participate for just one cent in two-platform app development.
After the official merger developers will be allowed to actually register as a developer for Microsoft for Windows Store as well as Windows Phone Store for $19 a year and teams will need to pay $99.
It should be clear that this is certainly not a merger of two app stores, at least not at this point. There are a lot of rumors that surely claim that there will be a merger of the two stores forward in time, partially confirmed months ago by Terry Myerson, the Microsoft executive VP in charge of the software firm’s operating system; however, for now it does not seem likely.
For now things do not seem to be changing drastically, nevertheless, it cannot be predicted for sure what the management in Microsoft will decide to do with those two app stores that are not so different after all.
Both possibilities of the app stores remaining as they are and being merged seem likely but the point to take from here is that if this report turns out to be absolutely valid then this would certainly be a step towards a potential merger and would, in fact, reveal the intentions of Microsoft as stated by Terry Myerson earlier.
