Three new bright Nokia Asha smartphones join the mobile world
The big Nokia World event in Abu Dhabi was the stage for the debut of the high-end Lumia 1520 and Lumia 2520 and the entry level Lumia 1320. Among the stars of the event were three new additions to the Asha family coming in unique shells with transparent layer called “ice layer”, all in bright colors and with decent sets of specs. Meet the successors of Asha 501, the Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503.
The Nokia Asha 500 is an entry-level handset that will be offered at very affordable price. It is a small-sized device with only 2.8-inches screen and a resolution of 240×320 pixels. The low-end Asha 500 provides a 2MP camera on the back and comes in two variants – with single and with dual-SIM.
Nokia Asha 502 is slightly bigger than its sibling. It sports a 3-inches display. The handset is armored with 5MP shooter with LED flash. Asha 502 supports dual-SIM.
The most impressive of the new Asha trio is definitely the Asha 503. It is armored with a 3-inches screen that boasts 320x240p resolution. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 2. The phone comes with 5MP primary camera on the back with LED flash. Just like its sibling Asha 500 it is announced with two options for one or dual-SIM cards. Among the extraordinary features of the device is the 3G support.
The software that powers all the three new handsets is the Nokia Asha software platform. We have seen the interface working on the entry-level Nokia Asha 501. It is simple to use icon-oriented UI with some screen and secondary list for apps and most frequently used features. It provides easy access to all the popular apps that users prefer.
Asha 500 will be launched in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. It will cost around $69 (without taxes included). The Asha 502 will be distributed in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America at price of $89 unlocked. Asha 503 will arrive in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East for the costs of $99. They are available in bright colors, including yellow, cyan, green, red, black and white.
