The white variant of Nexus 5 turned out to be a myth… at least for now
Just few days ago on the internet emerged the leak with new color variant of Nexus 5 in white shell. The news came from CtechCN site from China along with some nice render photos of the snow-colored device. However before you get excited about the news, we need to tell you that it is not real. Or at least, the leak with pictures is not real. No one has denied officially that Nexus 5 will arrive in more than one (black) color. The rumor seemed fishy from the beginning and therefore some sites and users have begun exploring it in deeper. According to the research made by AndroidPolice, the leaked pictures are actually modified render photos of the black Nexs 5 that we have seen in previously leaked set of images.
One of the reasons why the rumors did not seem believable enough was the fact that the white variant of the predecessor of the handset, Nexus 4 is actually two-tone. It sports a sleek body with a little black on the front panel and a white color on the rare side. The person that has created the face render photos just got carried away with the white paint. As AndroidPolice shows in its research and experiment, the change of the colors in the render photos can be done relatively easy. Just with minutes work, we can see the Nexus 5 posing in several different colors. This could be an idea for Google to introduce a Nexus Maker tool similar to Moto Maker for Moto X.
Google has not announced the official date for the unveiling of the LG Nexus 5. The most recent rumors suggest the end of October as the most probably time for the debut of the device. The phone will boast a 5-inches screen with 1080p resolution. It will be powered by quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip. Under the hood of the device will work 2300mAh. Hopefully we will know soon what more the smartphone will provide.
