The 5-inch low-budget HTC Desire 709d announced in China
Days after HTC unveiled the One Max, the Taiwanese company is now delivering another large smartphone. Unlike the HTC One Max, the newly announced HTC Desire 709d is quite small in terms of specs. Despite the 709d packs a huge 5-inch display, its resolution is just 960 x 540 pixels leading to not enough sharpness and clear image. In fact, the same resolution can be found even in smartphones having 4-inch or lower sized displays. On the other hand, this smartphone is bigger than the popular HTC One. The 709d measures 145.5 x 72 x 10.3 mm.
HTC Desire 709d is built around a quad-core processor ticking over at 1.2 GHz with 1 GB of RAM. The Internal storage is 8 GB, expandable via microSD card. The new device comes with Android 4.1 enriched with some unique HTC apps like BlinkFeed news, Zoe camera and photo app. Furthermore, HTC has included the popular BoomSound so you can enjoy a great sound. There’s an 8 MP camera with LED flash at a rear and a 2 MP shooter at the front. In terms of battery power, the HTC Desire 709d has a relatively small 2100 mAh battery.
The Desire 709d is said to be available only in China. Currently, there is no indication if the device will be available worldwide. The pricing is yet to be announced, but according to the specs, the new model is likely to fit within the budget category.
Meanwhile, the 5.9-inch HTC One Max launches in China on October 23. The handset will be sold via China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom. This model has a quad-core 1.7 GHz processor with 2 GB of RAM, 16 or 32 GB of storage and an UltraPixel camera.
