Google Nexus 5 gets a new certification
As early as Friday it was announced that the Google Nexus 5 had now made it through the Bluetooth SIG and now we have news on the GCF certification. The documentation now reveals the new very eagerly awaited device with stock Android to offer new and great LTE speeds. It seems that the new smartphone will offer LTE speeds as high as 150Mbps and it has LTE UE Category 4. This, of course, is literally the fastest speed in this category.
The LG-D821 version of the phone, which is the same model presented to the Bluetooth SIG, supports LTE 2600(B7)/2100(B1)/1800( B3)/850(B/800(B20) MHz, W-CDMA 2100(I)/1900(II)/1700(IV)/900(VIII)/850(V) MHz, and GSM 1900/1800/900/850MHz.
For now it seems that both the phone and the brand new Android 4.4 Kit Kat that is supposed to drive the phone’s components are rumored to both be unveiled on October 15th. Of course, with both the Bluetooth SIG and GCF certification finished the date is looking pretty achievable right now. Other than that the actual date of launch for the Google Nexus 5 is October 31st.
The model is expected to have a screen close to 5 inches with 1080×1920 resolution with quad-core processor power of 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 computing with Adreno 330 GPU doing all the graphic work . 2GB of RAM powering the module as well for smooth multitasking.
8MP camera with OIS image stabilization technology on the rear and the 16GB version of the phone is expected to come with 2300mAh battery for $299, while the 32GB version is supposed to come with 3000mAh battery and will be around $399. For now the information is not definite and we will take it with a grain of salt as you should do as well since no official leaks from LG and Google have come out about the devices specifications and characteristics.
