Jolla: the final completed specs revealed
The Finnish company Jolla has published the final specifications of its first smartphone. We already knew some of them, but the official jolla.com website revealed even finer details. Some of them are actually quite surprising for us. Let’s recap what we have so far.
Jolla boasts a 4.5-inch qHD display (960×540), a dual-core Snapdragon processor ticking over at 1.4 GHz backed by 1 GB of RAM. Jolla has 16 GB of internal storage at its disposal plus a microSD slot. There are two cameras on board: 8 MP shooter on the back with LED flash and 2 MP front facing camera. The smartphone works in 6 continents supporting 2G, 3G and 4G TLE networks. In terms of connectivity it has all features you need – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4, USB 2.0, and interface for wireless NFC. Jolla has included several sensors including proximity, gyro, compass, accelerometer and ambient light. The other specs include: 2100 mAh battery, 3.5 mm audio jack, RGB indicator and dual-microphone.
As you can see, Jolla is a quite nice device. It includes the latest Bluetooth protocol, a 6-point Gorilla glass screen and a unique Finish design featuring an aluminum frame. The body consists of two parts – the main body and the “other part”. Even combined together, both parts give a respectable thickness of 9.9mm.
Jolla runs the Sailfish OS that is based on the abandoned from Nokia MeeGo OS. It was recently announced that Sailfish became fully compatible with Android, which means all Android apps would be available to Jolla’s customers.
Jolla is currently open for pre-orders only for Finish customers. The device is priced at 399 EUR and it will be distributed through the local carrier DNA Kauppa. Jolla will be available for other countries soon, the Finish has promised.
