First serious registered bug in iOS 7 enables users to bypass the lockscreen security
iOS 7 is one of the most discussed topics in the mobile world. As we know, the fame comes with greetings and critics. You have probably already read a lot of the advantages of the platform. It is not a surprise that the first critics and issues with the new upgrade of iOS have already appeared on the internet. The bug that we will share with you now is about the weakness of the platform allowing to everyone that wants to bypass the lockscreen security check. The source of this leak is a real user of iOS 7 who shows on a video how exactly he can fool the security check and play with the software. He doesn’t get a full access to the system, but enough to cause trouble if he wants to.
Watch the video below if you want to find out more. What he does is accessing the Control Center through the lockscreen. The next action is turning on the camera from the toggle menu on the device. The next step is turning on the Alarm clock. It is followed by long press of the power key just like when you proceed when you want to turn off your device. You have to be prepared to press cancel and then quickly to double tam on the Home button. The series of actions will get you right where you want, to different multitasking menus of iOS 7.
You will be disappointed if you think it will give you a full access to the apps. It will enable you to do limited actions, like using the camera app for taking a photo and sharing it on the social networks, like Twitter. This means that you have access to the social profile of someone else which is serious breaking of the privacy and the security. Apple did not wait long to announce that it is working on fixing the problem. There is a simple way to protect your device from such an invasion. Just disable the Control Center from the lockscreen. You can do this through Settings – Control Center and uncheck the option “Access on Lock Screen.”
