Mysterious device rumored to be HTC Desire 601 visits the FCC
HTC Desire 601 made its debut in the tech world just few weeks ago. Many of you might remember the phone with the name HTC Zara. It is a great smartphone of mid-range category that runs on Android and brings abundance of features and capabilities. It is expected to hit the market in October. Rumors say that HTC is planning to distribute the phone in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. It will arrive in the US as well to the carrier Sprint. The company has not confirmed officially those plans. However since yesterday we have another proof that rumors are revealing the truth.
The source of information is once again the FCC database. A mysterious device named 0P4E100 was spotted in the files. Further exploring of the codename and the background of how Sprint-branded devices are named, we can make the conclusion that the device is HTC Desire 601 prepared for the carrier. The build number of the software included in the description of the phone in FCC is another clue that our guessing is right. Apparently it works on Android 4.2.2 and supports LTE band 25. This is the band used by Sprint. The new device arrives with Wi-Fi connectivity and other features, like NFC and Bluetooth.
Sprint has not confirmed the information, so until we get something from the company or we see the device in real; it is all about predictions and speculations. HTC Desire 601 sports a 4.5-inches display with a resolution of 960x540p. It is powered b dual-core processor with 1.2GHz speed and 1GB RAM. The phone is assured with 8MP shooter on the back. It runs on Android 4.2 or Android 4.3. The internal memory of the device is 8GB which is expandable. The phone runs on the Sense 5.5 user interface. HTC has not revealed further information for launch dates or the pricing for the smartphone.
