New Samsung device, Samsung Galaxy Gear, with questionable battery life
The unveiling of the new top-notch Samsung devices is coming soon and we are looking closely to get any information that might turn out to be interesting for our readers. A lot of people are very interested in buying the new Samsung device called the Samsung Galaxy Gear which is supposed to be a smartwatch. But there are a lot of worries about the technology. One of them is about the hardware and more specifically about the battery life. There are some people that do not believe that the battery life will be enough and that the device will not be able to support the functions that it possesses for long periods of time.
However, there are new leaks now that reveal more details on the coming Samsung device and may reveal a little bit more and clear some disinformation. The new device is supposed to have a dual-core 1.5GHz SoC (which is thought to be the Exynos 4212), 2.5-inch OLED display at 320×320 pixels, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, speakers on the straps, accelerometer and Android Jelly Bean designed by Google for the smartwatch. Now there is the new information that it will have a 4MP 720p rather than 2MP camera and there will be two available storage options 6GB and 8GB which is a bit odd and may be due to typo. So there might be 16GB and 8GB options.
However, the other part of the report suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Gear may support only 10 hours battery life which seems fat too low but when you consider that the smartwatch will not be used as often as, for example, the smartphone you realize that the Samsung device might be right on the money. More information will be available next week when the device is unveiled at the special event that Samsung organizes along with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
