iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S are going to be delayed in China
First Financial Daily had some bad news to pass along. The Chinese newspaper announced that the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C will not launch in China very soon. In fact, the two devices may launch in China as late as November 28th. The unfortunate delay is not due to manufacturing or regional purpose but due to the fact that the devices still have not received approval from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The better side of the report is that the Qualcomm radios that will be in the new devices will support China Mobile’s proprietary network which up to now did not allow the device to appear on world’s largest carrier.
However, the information also claims that China Mobile and Apple will eventually reach an agreement until the end of this year, which will allow the iPhone to be offered to the huge number of customers of the Chinese carrier.
The iPhone 5S is supposed to be top-notch premium device with the iPhone 5. Nevertheless, the iPhone 5C will be offered as the budget version of iPhone along with color back plate probably and plastic body. September 10th is the date that we expect to know more about the new Apple device and the actual U.S. launch event is rumored to take place on 20th September.
This information seems to make it clear that Apple wants to step on the biggest market on the world with the biggest carrier in the world and obviously wants to make additional income from the budget device as they probably think that it will be preferred on market like the Chinese. According to the Chinese newspaper that came up with the report the devices that will be offered on the Chinese market will cost 5,599 yuan ($915 USD) and the Apple iPhone 5C will cost 3,399 yuan ($555 USD).
