The official name of Sony Honami is Sony Xperia Z1 according to reliable sources
Perhaps there isn’t someone in the tech world who hasn’t heard about the upcoming new camera-phone Sony Xperia Honami, or as it is know Honami. Well, don’t get used to this name yet, because according to a very reliable tipster on the topic of Sony – DooMLoRD from XDA-Devs, the upcoming new device will be named Sony Xperia Z1 (we are not certain yet whether it will be written Z1 or Z One).
Many comment that this name of the phone is a better fit for the whole Xperia line. The rumors for the new name are only part of the news around Sony Xperia Z1 from today. Just hours ago new press images revealed the upcoming camera-phone in three smashing photos. The hint that Sony makes is to expect the Xperia Z1 flagship in three colored versions – purple, black and white. The premium appearance of the handset is enriched by the glass back showed on the photos that is in tune with the concept of Xperia Z.
To summarize all we know for Sony Xperia Z1 aka Sony Honami – it will run over Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS and of course, over the Xperia user interface. It will be powered by Snapdragon 800 chipset and CPU quad-core Krait 400. Rumors say that it will arrive with a water and dust resistant shell. The centerpiece of the handset will be its 20.7MP camera on the back panel that is enriched with two flashes – Xenon and LED. One of the great capabilities of the camera is its option to record 4K video.
If all this information has not made you excited yet, you might like the rumor that Sony is working on a smaller and more affordable mini version of the flagship. Sony Xperia Z1 will be officially unveiled on 4th of September during the annual IFA event in Berlin.
