New firmware update for Xperia S and Xperia SL
We are continuously trying to keep all our readers informed about latest news that is happening or is about to happen. If you happen to have Sony Xperia S or Xperia SL then this information may draw your attention as it seems a new firmware update with some fixes is headed in our way very soon.
The firmware update will be a build 6.2.B.1.96 according to a leaked screenshot but if you think that’s Android 4.2 you may be left disappointed as the upcoming update is only Android 4.1.2 Jelly-Bean based. Android 4.1.2 began rolling out for various regions at the end of May for the Xperia S and Xperia SL and a lot of users reported to have various issues with their new update.
There is not any official changelog about the firmware that’s about to be released for the Xperia S and Xperia SL and we do not know when it will be released exactly. But as many things this month it is expected to be released at the end of August so there is not much time to wait until the update is official. It seems that with the update volume bugs and 1080p capture bugs will receive a fix and maybe there will be stability and performance enhancements. It is also rumored that users will be able to launch Google New by simply long-striking the home button.
Now only the time and space separates us from finding out if the new update will provide the needed fixes on the bugs and will the performance of the device as a whole will be improved. It is obvious that the last Jelly Bean based update was too quick and unwise which led to the issues that occurred and made the users of the Xperias unhappy with their current situation. We are expecting to see the fix .
