Microsoft announces significant discounts in the price of Surface RT tablet
Do you like Microsoft Surface RT tablet? A lot of users who were thinking of buying the tablet had doubt whether to do it because of the high price for the tablet. Now Microsoft has announced a major cut down in the price of the basic version of the tablet. Microsoft Surface RT can be bought for $349 after today. Tablets of the model are offered through Microsoft Store in a lot of countries worldwide. The drop down in the prices is nearly 30%. The different versions of the model will be offered with different discounts. For example, the 32GB version will be offered at $349 instead of $499. The 64GB version of the tablet now sells for $499 instead of $649. There will be changes in the price of the Surface Pro tablet models; however they are still not officially announced.
Surface RT makes impression with its sleek and tough magnesium alloy body. It runs on the OS Windows RT, the new platform of Windows that is provided to limited devices. One of the reasons why Surface RT could not win bigger numbers for sells is because the Windows RT platform is not compatible with a lot of the Windows apps. Users could use mainly the Office suite which was especially adjusted for the Surface RT.
Surface RT laptop will be offered at the discounted prices all around the world. The changes in the price of the 32GB basic version are: €337 in Italy; €329 in Germany; €329 in Spain; €339 in France and £279 in the UK.
Microsoft has not officially explained why it changes the price of the tablet. The speculations on this topic suggest bad numbers of sales for the Surface RT tablet. We recently shared with you the special program that Microsoft is providing in order to deliver more advanced technologies in the schools “Classroom Surface Experience Project.” The company offered the Surface RT tablet at discounted prices for students and schools.
