Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
Android 4.2 Jelly Bean will be presented in November
Android has evolved a lot since its early days. From a raw platform making its debut in October 2008 on the T-Mobile G1, it has since then developed rapidly to the world’s most popular platform. What’s more important, it no longer feels as if Android is catching up – rather it is leading the way and others are now trying to keep pace. During this relatively short period, Android has issued a few very successful updates of its main platform, too.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the arrival of Palm and webOS chief designer Matias Duarte, look like the breakthrough moment. While ICS finally matured the looks, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean added the perfectly smooth performance the platform needed.
Android 4.2 builds on that with a razor sharp focus on the user. Now Google has brought a ton of gradual improvements, making Android more and more user friendly. The company planning to announce the new Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in November. Among the first devices that will get it are the Google Nexus models.
What can we expect from the new platform Android 4.2 Jelly Bean? New homescreen, widgets, features and apps will be provided with the update. One of the most anticipated improvements is the keyboard that supports gesture typing. The update will bring the features for voice typing via text-to-speech and more enriched dictionary. The camera app Photo Sphere will be improved with new capabilities as well. The notifications center will provide more possibilities than the feature in Android 4.1. One of the most convenient features in the new update is the Quick Settings. The Google Now application will provide loads of possibilities for users, including new cards with a valuable information for hotels, flights, concert tickets, bookings etc. Android 4.2 Jelly Bean will begin rolling out in the end of the year. It will be free for download.
