Drop down in prices of Dell tablets

There is a significant trend for lowering of the prices of tablets that run with Microsoft Windows RT. We first noticed it a month ago, and now we can see several companies that are following this path. Dell is one of them. Recently the company announced a deep drop down in the prices for several of its products, such as the Windows RT tablet and the XPS 10. The prices of the devices fell down once in past. Today, you can buy a single item for $299.99 only, which is with $150 cheaper than the previous price. If we compare the current price to the release price of XPS 10 back in October 2012, the drop down is with $200.

This is the first time in the tech world that we can buy an original Windows RT tablet that costs less than $300, when you buy it directly from Dell. This is the current price of the 32 GB of the tablet XPS 10. Other versions of the tablet are available on the higher price of $499.99. They include 64GB internal memory, as well as a mobile keyboard dock and even a 4G LTE antenna.

Dell was forced by the trends in the market to lower the prices of its tablets that work with an ARM processor and run with the Windows RT. So far, there are no indications that the company is planning to change its strategy in relying on Windows RT. In fact, there are speculations that soon Dell will release more Windows RT devices.

Is the drop down in the prices an indicator that Dell has to make changes in the technology and the OS it chooses for its new products, or is this the logic path of life of all the new mobile devices in the tech world? We will wait and see.
